MBBS Counselling in India 2025: AIQ & State Quota Explained
MBBS counselling in India 2025 is a crucial step after qualifying NEET-UG. The counselling process is divided into All India Quota (AIQ) and State Quota.
AIQ (15%): Managed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), AIQ counselling provides seats in government medical colleges across India, including central universities, deemed universities, and institutes like AIIMS and JIPMER. Candidates from any state can apply for AIQ seats, subject to their NEET score and category.
State Quota (85%): Conducted by individual state authorities, State Quota counselling is for seats in state-run medical colleges and private institutions within the state. State residents with a valid domicile are eligible for this quota.
Both counselling processes involve registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting to the allotted college. Each state may have additional rounds such as Mop-Up and Stray Vacancy rounds to fill remaining seats. Stay informed about the schedules on the official MCC and state counselling websites.
